Friends & Family Inc. is a non-profit adult foster care corporation established to provide community based services to adults with developmental disabilities. We provide specialized residential care, senior services and in-home care to adults with special needs. Our company has grown to 11 licensed homes and 16 personal residences throughout Macomb and Oakland County.
It is the mission of Friends and Family, Inc. to provide the least restrictive environment possible, which will maximize the social and psychological growth of the people we serve. Our goal is to provide the spirit of gentleness for everyone associated with Friends and Family, Inc. to achieve the feeling of being safe, loved, and loving.
Our responsibilities and services involve all areas of the individual’s needs. Care givers will teach individuals to feel safe and loved, and to be loving toward others. Currently, Friends & Family has over 180 certified, highly-trained and professional employees.
Our direct care workers are certified in CPR, First Aid and handling all blood borne pathogens. Each employee at our company completes a two week entry level care giver training course with the Macomb Oakland Regional Center and must successfully pass a test out of all units covered every three years. All employees also complete their new hire recipient rights training through Oakland or Macomb County Community of Mental Health and must complete annual refresher training thereafter.
